My mother isn't doing well, so I'm taking some time off to go down there.  Internet onlined-ness, online-icity, whatever, will be rather intermittant for a while.

She's doing a little better, but we don't know how far it will improve, and really, it seems that if she leaves the hospital it will be to hospice care, no longer able to be home. And they've stopped working with her to get her to walk again from the hip surgery. I'm in Richmond, VA, btw, closer now to you. Your weather sucks, too hot & humid, reminds me why I stayed up north. ;)

I'm really sorry to hear that it's at that point. Hospice can help so much with things like pain control, at least, if that's an issue. My father had hospice care and the people were so nice, really helpful in a way that the regular doctors and nurses had not been, and they thought of little changes that made a difference in his comfort. They can also be comforting to family members--I think they all serve as amateur therapists.

Yes, the weather here is miserable in the summer. I want to spent all my time inside with A/C and ice water.
