The 1st was busy, but it's still just the 2nd of the month.

I'll do 3-card readings for anyone who asks.

The Sphinx: choose your words carefully
The Maiden: a new relationship blossoms
The Moon: you will be guided through darkness

The Sphinx offers a riddle, a puzzle, a difficulty that's hard to answer. Don't go on impulse; think before you speak or act. The Maiden symbolizes innocence, hope, and a good friend, not just romance. The Moon is mysterious and secret, but also bright and trangquil. Combined reading? Relax, don't push. Enjoy and trust in friendships, new and old, and something in that will be what helps you out of difficulty.

like this recession ?

Well, if you're asking about the recession, I'd say the reading is that complaining about it isn't going to solve anything and might just alienate you from others, and it's the others, the friends you have and you'll make, that will help you survive. Think networking and safety nets, but also that you can't do it deliberately as "I help you if you help me." The Moon works in less open ways.

The Oracle: seek wisdom and guidance from elders
The Knight; triumph over adversity
Earth: use logic, reason, and common sense

The Oracle says to consult higher levels of knowledge through books or teachers. The Knight is a champion, courageous and strong, meeting dangers head-on. Earth is passive, grounded, steadfast. In combination? You have the strength, but don't get carried away tilting at windmills. The Knight is bound on either side by teachings and common sense, let those moderate his direction and purpose.

I suppose I could tie this in with my desire to start a spring garden, and I am using all kind of Misssissippi specific gardening reference, right?

Yes, it could easily be tied in with that! Saying, you need to check on what's realistic and not some imagined perfect garden? But that you -will- get something good, if you do the research and keep it reasonable in size and scope. :-)
