NaNoWriMo 2007

Yes, you read the title correctly.  The NaNoWriMo folks have send out e-mails saying they've finally gotten a deal with a company to give any 2007 winner a FREE paperback version of their "novel."    So cool!   Except... damn, now I really, REALLY should edit the hell out of it.    (Luckily the offer will be good for another six months, because the next several weeks worth of writing effort will be spent on NaNoWriMo 2008 instead.)

It's "NaNoWriMo" which is "National Novel Writing Month" which is kinda of a silly idea to help encourage people to -try- writing more than they might do on their own. It's an annual event, it's the month of November, you sign up at www.nanowrimo.org, and you pledge to try to write 50,000 words of "novel" during the month of November. Only November. You can't start sooner (you can do outlines but no text), you can't finish later. Don't try to edit, they say. Just, ya know, WRITE. People ban together in support groups all over. Some are in Ireland. :-)

I'll look into it. I'm goin to write more. I have a lot of ideas but I'm not sure where to take them. Maybe this will sort them out.

Try it! you've got nothing to lose, right? :-)

This is the link to the regional lounges:

They have three groups in Ireland. I don't know if any are close enough to you, but it's always fun just to talk in the forums.
