I have antibiotics and cough medicine and ibuprofen and antihistamines and tea and some of them work sometimes but not all of them all the time so I'm still feeling fairly un-energetic and, yes, sick.

It started last Tuesday as a cold, a bad cold with a cough. My daughter had a bad cold about a week or two before and when it didn't get better she'd found out it had turned to an asthmatic bronchitis of the sort to which I'm also susceptible during respiratory illnesses. So I figured her lingering cold germs had their found a way in, and I was due for the bronchitis, too, and as a preventative and precaution I stayed home Wednesday and Thursday and did some work through VPN. But Friday was very bad. Friday was an urgent care appointment, at my husband's strong encouragement, but waiting later than he'd suggested and so no appointment till the very end of the day. By then it was chills and fever and when I got there, I was told "wow, you're sick!". Fever of 102.1, small patch of pneumonia in right lung. The sinus headache and congestion wasn't usual for pneumonia, but they shrugged and said "so it started with a cold." Which, yes, it did.

A nice thing about basketry is that you don't have to think continually through the process. When you get to the parts that do require thought, you can put it aside till your mind is less fuzzy. And if you make a mistake, you can unwind it.
