This is/was the last piece done for Arisia, the one that went for the "quick sale" price:

Oak Woman - Side by *
CimearaFinal tally: four of ten sold! The piece above, two necklaces, and the bird-beak-ball figurine. I'm very pleased. And what was even better was meeting some of the other artists, seeing their work, getting new inspirations.
Wendy Ellertson makes marvelous fantasy pieces from mixed materials, and she's equally marvelous to talk with. Then there was
folzgold, aka Jacob Lefton, who had lovely ironwork that shared a table with my figurines. I bought one of his small pieces, a non-metal abstract figure with a mirror torso, a 2" tall model for what he hopes someday to make full-sized. I really hope he does. There's a nice article about Jacob and his work
here.
More readings and I managed to get to the one by
nineweaving at 10am on Sunday, but only barely, having stayed up too late after the Masquerade on Saturday. The costumes there didn't quite blow me away, but there were some good ones and good ideas. I especially liked the personal-sized dirigible, the steampunk version of a jetpack. I caught the "Red Shift" radio play put on by the
Post-Meridian Radio Players and that was great, and saw some of the bellydancing performance that
jenwrites was in, but couldn't stay long. I'd only had the hotel room for Friday and Saturday, and wanted to get home before the rain turned to snow.

It is a beautiful piece, and I hope its new owner is enjoying it!
