December Reading

My cards for the upcoming month were:

Love: "True Love and Fidelity" Honesty, union, a rekindling of affections. You will attain your heart's desire.
Air: "Seek a Union of Mind and Spirit" Dreamy and indecisive. Seek guidance in the spiritul and ethereal realms.
The Knight: "Triumph Over Adversity" Valor, truth, justice. Be direct and meet matters head-on.

Not a bad outlook, promising achievement of emotional/spiritual goals if I'm focused and actively work towards them. Knight, not troubadour.

* * *

If others would like a 3-card reading for the month, just let me know. It's open to anyone; you don't have to be on my friends list to ask. (And if you want it to be a private reading, you can send me a message instead of posting in the comments.)

Winds of Change: "Your Surroundings Will Undergo Transition"
The Chimeara: "Imagination Clouds Your Judgement"
The Greenman: "The Forces of Nature Favor You"

Changes will happen and whether you decide to take a new direction or keep your current course, you'll still have to adapt. But don't get swept into flights of fancy; you'll do best if you keep yourself well grounded.

The Sphinx: "Choose Your Words Carefully"
The King: "Authority and Diplomacy"
Serendipity: "Bright New Prospects Are On The Horizon"

This is not the time to act on impulse. It's a difficult situation, but assess it calmly and rationally and with measured judgment and authority, and you'll open the door to even more good things than you expect.

The Wyvern: "Your Secrets Are Safe"
The Knight: "Triumph Over Adversity"
The Sun: "Your Perseverance Is Rewarded"

The Wyvern is also second chances, secret guilt, and forgiving past transgressions (yours or others). Whatever was done is past. If you face the future with honor and directness and persistance, you'll get the respect, the recognition, and the happiness you'll deserve.

I've never had my cards read, in person or otherwise--I'm kind of curious. I'd love a reading.

Of course! I don't think of them as telling actual fortunes, as much as helping to trigger insights? If the cards aren't meaningful, forget them. If they are, figure out why, because that's an indication of what's concerning your own mind. Your cards:

The Gate: "A Barrier Keeps You From Your Goal"
Medusa: "Jealousy Leads To Downfall"
The Oracle: "Seek Wisdom And Guidance From Elders"

There's an obstacle between you and where you want to be, and you need the proper key, but you may be unable to move, stuck in stone by your own emtions and with accepting the wisdom and help of others, because you think you ought to be able to manage just as well yourself. These resources can include books or teachings, not just people, but that's where you'll find the key.

"I don't think of them as telling actual fortunes, as much as helping to trigger insights?"

Yes, that makes sense. I always figured that when people see predictive power in these sorts of things, it's mainly because the cards (or fortune tellers, horoscopes, etc.) are triggering some knowledge the person already has, something subconscious, etc.

"There's an obstacle between you and where you want to be, and you need the proper key, but you may be unable to move"

That's pretty much the story of my life.

"because you think you ought to be able to manage just as well yourself. "

That's true as well, at least for the really big stuff.

"Seek Wisdom And Guidance From Elders ... These resources can include books or teachings, not just people, but that's where you'll find the key."

This part I'll have to think about. I've always felt that the elders who were supposed to offer guidance (esp. in my family) have not done so, or at least not in a constructive, helpful way, and I've lacked a source for advice and wisdom from someone who has been through certain things already.

Worth thinking about. Thanks!
