I was talking with someone about never being at a loss for something to do, and he thought that extended idleness for something like a broken leg would tax even my backlog of activities.   Which got me thinking about the number of crafts I could manage if confined to bed, which got me thinking on the number of crafts I've done at all.   None of which I've mastered, and there's a lot of overlap, but I'll count anything that resulted in a finished work (one that didn't need to go directly into the trash!) and that's often taught as a separate skill:

assemblage
basketry
beadwork
bookbinding
calligraphy
candymaking
ceramics
cooking
cordials
costuming
decoupage
dollmaking
embroidery
fabric painting
gardening
glass painting
hat-making
illumination
jewelry
knitting
lacis
leatherwork
macrame
maskmaking
mosaic
musical instrument making
needlelace
needlepoint
origami
painting
papier-mache
patchwork
photo development
photography
pottery
rug hooking
sewing
shoe-making
silversmithing
sprang
stuffed animals
weaving

Too many crafts? But there are lots of things I still haven't tried!  But this -is- part of the reason our house is so cluttered,  all the bins and bags of tools and supplies. *sigh*

Nice contest! I like the top entry, but many of the others seem very un-Coach-like. It'll be interesting to see who they pick for the winners.
