Crab with Plums

For lunch yesterday, I threw this together:

1 cup crabmeat (imitation, surimi)
4 small plums, pitted and sliced into eighths
1 Tablespoon hoisin-garlic sauce
1 teaspoon mirin (sweet rice wine)

Mix the crabmeat and plum sections together. Stir the mirin into the hoisin-garlic sauce till smooth and pour over the seafood & fruit. Microwave for 2 to 3 minutes on high.

Substitution: Regular hoisin sauce would be thicker than my hoisin-garlic sauce. Use two teaspoons of that plus a teaspoon of soy sauce and a little garlic powder. If you don't have mirin, try sake with a pinch of sugar, or a not-too-dry sherry, or sweet marsala.

If I were serving it to others, I'd put this over long skinny noodles (not rice, somehow rice doesn't seem to fit here). I'd also thought of adding something else (pineapple? pea pods?) but the crab with plums is so delicately flavorful that I'm afraid of ruining the combination. Pineapple might make it too sweet & sour, pea pods might make it too earthy. Possibly some white corn kernels would do...

Anyone else have suggestions for added ingredients or side dishes to turn this into more of a meal?
