November 1st

It's been a while. If anyone would like me to do a 3-card reading for them, just ask. You don't have to be on my friends list, and it's fine if you tell others. I use this deck. It's not Tarot, but it seems to work.

Medusa: jealousy leads to downfall
The Mystic Circle: your abilities will be enhanced
The Oracle: seek wisdom and guidance from elders

Medusa can signify envy, jealous rage, exile, harsh punishment. The Circle represents spiritual energies and beliefs, and protection. The Oracle is a holder of knowledge, in books or in teachers. If I put them together, it seems to indicate a problem with wanting what others have, seeing their good fortune and maybe therefore trying to live their life instead of yours, which could expose you to trouble and danger instead of making things better. Make sure that you're operating from a steady, safe place, a centered self, with full knowledge and understanding and research into what you want and what's best for -you-. You do have that knowledge, or can get it. (I'm almost getting a vibe of "you're more grown up than you think you are" :-))

You know, that's very applicable to what I'm going through now.

If it helps you towards an understanding of the situation, or even just seeing it in a different light, that's the value. It's never claimed to be real fortune telling. But sometimes, it does seem to help.

Air: seek a union of mind and spirit
The Satyr: revelry and indulgence
The Chalice: rejuvenation and fulfillment

Air is the element in those light-hearted and free-spirited. The Satyr is playful and mischievous, not necessarily over-indulgent. The Chalice is a symbol of abundance and love. These weren't the first cards that I drew for you, but the first cards didn't feel right. They felt too much like "this is what he expects to be told." They were dull, serious. Forget those. Loosen up. It's time, you've earned it, you're not going to overdo it, just relax and enjoy life right now.

The Sphinx: choose your words carefully
The Moon: you will be guided through darkness
The Hourglass: time is of the essence

Well. The Sphinx is also a puzzle, a problem to solve, and the warning not to act on impulse. The Hourglass, though, says "don't hesitate." The Moon is illumination, but also secrets: it has its dark side. Put together: go with your instincts and don't go by what's on the surface, by what might seem obvious to others. Now is the time to move, and you do have the right answer inside.

Hmm. Interesting. I'll definitely keep this in mind. Not sure what it could be referring to, but I guess I'll see! Thanks!

Medusa: jealousy leads to downfall
The Wolf: beware who you trust
Love: true love and fidelity

The Minstrel: let your intentions be known
The Key: locked doors can now be opened

So I pulled three cards and then it felt like more were needed so I cut the deck, except it didn't cut in half but in thirds. Two extra cards. The main answer is a lovely mix. Medusa and the Wolf say be careful, but then there's the Love card. Put those together and it's a "beware of jealousy, because it may drive even a faithful love away." The Minstrel can be overly idealistic but there's the Key. Be open, be kind, be sure in yourself and others; you have the key to happiness.

I know I'm a tad late (I've been sick all week), but I'd be interested, please.

*hugs* No problem! It just takes a while then to find the right time and mood. :-)

The Hourglass: time is of the essence
The Moon: you will be guided through darkness
The Queen: love and prosperity

This is interesting. Two of them are the same as those for Jen, but in a different order. The Hourglass still says time is running out. The Moon still says light in the darkness, but don't forget there's darkness. The Queen adds a female figure, respected and confidant. I could interpret this in two ways. The first is: there's something you need to do, and it's not clear to you what it is, but look for help from this woman. The second is based on the moon as aspect of the feminine and especially of transitions and cycles. This says, it's time now for you to become the Queen, to step into a more secure role.
